Samsung's latest security update is here, but it's not for your phone! The Galaxy Watch 7 is receiving a new software update with the February 2026 security patch, addressing a whopping 37 vulnerabilities. But here's the catch: it's currently only available in South Korea.
This update, weighing in at 390.13MB (firmware version L310XXU2BZB1), is a significant one for Galaxy Watch 7 users, who typically receive security updates less frequently than smartphone users. While Samsung usually provides monthly security patches for its Galaxy smartphones, the brand takes a different approach with its smartwatches, offering updates every two to three months.
Interestingly, the February 2026 update comes after the March 2026 security patch was detailed by Samsung, which addressed 65 vulnerabilities. This raises the question: why is the older patch being released for the Galaxy Watch 7?
The update is expected to roll out to other countries soon, so keep an eye out for it in your Watch settings. And this is the part most users might miss: to manually check for the update, navigate to Watch settings > Watch software update and tap Download and install.
But here's where it gets controversial: Should smartwatches receive security updates as frequently as smartphones? Share your thoughts in the comments!
